PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Linda Burshia Battle

October is such a glorious month. It's filled with beautiful sunny days, autumn leaves in brilliant colors, jewel like fruit filled trees,  fall flowers, pumpkins, squash  and crisper nights. I agree totally with LM Montgomery  (Anne of Green Gables),  "I am glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."

This is an exciting month for master gardeners as we look forward to Advanced Training on October 21st.  Many hardworking and inspired MG's have been working with Beth to bring you a stellar event!  Sign up. Encourage your friends to sign up. The classes will be extremely worthwhile and it will be a fun filled, festive day.

October 12th is the last day to volunteer in the gardens at Hovander, as things wind down in that lovely landscape. The Roeder Home team is still going strong if you still need volunteer hours. We have graduation of the new class of Master Gardeners on November 3rd.  This is another great event, not to be missed. Make sure that date is on your calendar, also.

Our board is still looking for a volunteer to fill a member at large position. It's a great opportunity to learn more about the board, the foundation and all the programs. A willingness to commit to a 1st Tuesday board meeting most months from 10am-12pm is the primary qualification. Contact me (lburshia@gmail.comor any board member if you are interested.
